Speaking at TEDx (2018)
Have you ever thought about speaking at a big event like TEDx?
A TEDx talk is a local gathering where TED-like talks and videos previously recorded at TED conferences are shared with the community. The event is filled with brilliant speakers, thought-provoking videos and mind-blowing conversations.
In this episode, Ashley shares her first-hand experience on the TEDx stage. She walks you through the application process, speaker training and preparation, and on-stage presentation. You’ll learn where to find your local TEDx events and how to apply for them. After an assessment and interviews, shortlisted speakers are assigned a coach who gives advice on the speech and delivery. Speakers have to finalize their speech, rehearse and hone their presentation on a tight schedule. On June 2nd, Ashley got up on stage, gave her speech and enjoyed a big round of applause. Why did Ashley decide to give a TEDx talk? How has the experience changed her life? How can you prepare yourself for this kind of presentation?
